Political and revolutionary parties organised a march sin Alexandria to protest against the ongoing Israeli assault on Gaza as well as the rail disaster which left more than 55 dead children and a number of injured. The march demanded the resignation of the Egyptian Prime Minister, Hesham Qandil.
Names of the dead children in the train-bus collision were written on signs carried by marchers. “An innocent child killed in Assiut and a young man killed in Port Said. Where is retribution?\" said the chanting protesters.
“Egypt is currently experience its worst political atmospheres at all levels” said Sara Araffat, a member of Lazem Movement who demanded holding those responsible accountable.
Araffat denounced the financial compensations distributed by the government on the families of the victims, saying that is 4000 EGP became the common price of those killed in Egypt as it was a fixed price.
