A number of Palestinian officials have left Syria for Lebanon in fear of being targeted by Syrian forces, a source told Arabstoday. Recent security issues in Damascus have prompted the officials to depart the country, the source said.
Assad’s military operations targetting Palestinian camps killed hundreds and forced 40,000 refugees to flee the region, added the source.
The source also said that Palestinian officials have expressed their anxiety over recent security developments in Syria, prompting them to change residences and to avoid going to their offices.
