Cairo - Akram Ali
Egypt\'s prosecutor-general says he has received new evidence related to the Wadi el-Natrun prison case.
Hesham Barakat said state security prosecution will begin an immediate investigation into how former Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi and 33 other Muslim Brotherhood figures escaped from the detention centre during the 2011 revolution.
It is believed the new evidence relates to the involvement of Hamas and Hezbollah in the plot to storm the prison.
Last week, security officers told a court in Ismailia, north east Egypt, that the Muslim Brotherhood had used \"foreign elements\" to attack the prison, west of Cairo, and secure the release of group leaders.
