Sheikh Hafez Salama called on Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi to form a Civil Presidential Council composed of 11 elected members. He added that the new body should include military and judicial leaders. Salama blamed the US for causing the current chaos in Egypt by financing saboteurs within the country. He also claimed the current conflicts could lead to a civil war, undermining the revolution. He called on the Egyptian people to maintain unity. Professor of Political Science Mohammed Salman told Arabstoday that Salama’s proposals for a Civil Presidential Council are not compatible with the country’s constitution.
