Spokesman of Morocco’s Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), Hakim Ben Chammas, criticised on Wednesday the Islamist government, calling it a “dark sport in an otherwise bright phase.” Chammas accused the government of suspending the constitution and attempting to dominate the political arena and the media, whilst excluding all other political parties. During a speech at a forum organised by the Maghreb Arab Press, Chammas said PAM had no interest in being part of the government but \"welcomed\" suggestions of talks with the ruling Party of Justice and Development. He highlighted that his party never intended to stop all negotiations with the government simply because they were in the opposition.
