Moroccan security forces say they have managed to break a terrorist ring, working with Algerian extremists in the recruitment of young men for al-Qaida in the Islamic Magreb (AQIM). Moroccan Interior Ministry said that the group was the second ring of its kind, operating within Moroccan territory to recruit volunteers for terrorist operations in Algeria. The ministry said that all six members were arrested and the ringleader was imprisoned under the terrorism law. It added that the other defendants will be prosecuted under the same law in the future.
