A Sudanese military plane crashed on Friday in South Kordofan following a technical fault, a military spokesman has confirmed.
The spokesman, Al Sawarmy Khaled Saad, said the plane was flying during a routine mission but crashed near the town of Abu Karshula, South Kordofan.
However no casualties have yet been reported, although the spokesman stated more details regarding the crash are to follow.
A large scale military campaign has been launched in South Kordofan to bring an end to violence in the state. The initiative was confirmed by army officials and the chairman.
