Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim along with a host of security leaderships attended the funeral of a special forces officer, who was shot dead on Thursday while trying to arrest suspects wanted in connection with a killing of a security official. Captain Ahmed Samir came under fire during an early morning operation to arrest militants in the province of Qalyubia. They were suspected of involvement in the shooting in Cairo on Sunday of a senior officer at the National Security Apparatus (NSA), Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Mabrouk. The military funeral started following noon prayers at the Police Mosque in Darasa and in the presence of security commanders and the martyr's family. Source: MENA
