Outgoing Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has condemned the arrest of Muhammed Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, by Israeli forces on Wednesday.
Mikati asserted that "arresting Mufti Hussein and interrogating him for hours represents a new chapter of terrorism conducted by the Israeli occupation to prevent Palestinians from expressing their opinions, practicing their religious rites and maintaining their rights to their land, country and sanctities.”
“We renew our call for a comprehensive and united Arab movement to stop Israel from continuing their violent policy against the Palestinian public,” the former prime minister added.
