Former Mauritanian President Aal Walad Mohamed Fal has condemned current leader Mohamed Walad Abdelaziz for attacking his opponents. Criticising his successor’s economic policy, Fal condemned the “systematic persecution” of businessmen in the country, also accusing Abdelaziz of liquidating the economy. Mauritania’s business sector faces tough measures, the former President claimed, citing unfair taxes and pressures from the Central Bank and injustice. The current regime had allegedly abandoned “required reform” of the country’s Central Bank, which Fal claimed he began between 2005-2007.
