Unknown gunmen kidnapped a senior official at the health ministry in the capital Tripoli, local media reports said.
Tahir Ali Abdel-Salam, the head of the ministry's medical supply department, was kidnapped outside a Tripoli hotel.
No group claimed responsibility of the kidnapping.
