Benghazi’s official in charge of foreign workers Ayman Khafify has revealed that Libyan authorities have arrested gangs smuggling and selling expatriate Asian labourers. Speaking exclusively to Arabstoday, Khafify said that arrests followed a tip-off from an anonymous local. After preliminary investigations, an unknown number of men were arrested on Sunday. Illegal traders sell stolen, contraband and prohibited goods. Current prices for Asian workers range from 250-1,000 dinars ($150-850).
