Lebanon's Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil has congratulated president-elect Abdel-Fatah el-Sisi on his election win, said a statement on Tuesday.
"We hope that Egypt could restore its pioneering role in the Arab region," read the statement.
Former Egyptian army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi won a landslide victory in a presidential election with more than 93% of the votes, according to initial results by his campaign.
The final results are expected to be announced Tuesday at 7 p.m.
