Lebanon’s public directorate of security has issued a statement denying reports published in Kuwaiti newspaper, Al-Seyassah, stating that Lebanese security refused Hamas leaders a visa to enter the country, following a request from Hezbollah. The Kuwaiti newspaper said that the decision came as a result of contradicting positions adopted by the Lebanese Shiite party and the Palestinian Islamic Movement of Hamas regarding the current war in Syria. Lebanese security clarified its decision to prevent Hamas leaders from entering Lebanon, stating that a number of Palestinian elements have previously attempted to enter Lebanon using false visas. Security authorities conducted an investigation into the case, adding that they will refer it to the judiciary to take a \"suitable decision.\" Lebanon has stressed this clarification to \"keep a strong relation with Palestinian\" based on \"respect and confidence.\"
