Beirut - Georges Chahine
Lebanese President Michel Sleiman has met with top-ranking army officials following attacks in Lebanese territory by Syrian warplanes.
Sleiman has reportedly talked with army chief General Jean Qahwaji after Syrian jets bombed Arsal and Aldbabih, leading to damages to farmland and civilian areas.
“There are no justifications or apparent reasons for the bombings,” Sleiman was quoted saying after the meeting.
The president has called for army commanders to hand over “necessary related documents” to the country’s foreign ministry.
