Beirut - Georges Chahine
Walid Jumblatt, leader of the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) in Lebanon, has called for national consensus on the country's controversial new electoral law, criticising Hezbollah of “moving in the opposite direction.”
“We can agree on a compromise that satisfies everyone before April 20,” he said. “There will be no winners in this.”
Jumblatt meanwhile praised the Lebanese government for its “self-distancing” policy in the Syrian conflict, but also called it “inapplicable.”
“Hezbollah is moving in the opposite direction with the Syrian conflict,” he claimed.
