Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) Intelligence Bureau unit has arrested Ibrahim Hafiz Khanjar, who is charged with the killing of LAF soldier Charbel Hatem and the suspected assassination of Major Abdo Jasser and Warrant Officer Ziad al-Mayss, in November 2010. Hatem was killed in a raid in Majdel Aanjar, a village at the foot-hills of Anti-Lebanon mountains dividing Lebanon and Syria, when the LAF went to arrest Khanjar. Khanjar was also wanted for the suspected kidnapping of seven Estonian cyclists, in March 2011, shortly after they crossed into Lebanon from neighbouring Syria. They were released in July 2011, after spending 113 days in captivity.
