A powerful explosion which went off outside the Supreme Court and near the US embassy rocked the Afghan capital Kabul Tuesday, witnesses said. Deputy police chief Dawood Amin says the explosion took place a few hundred metres from the embassy gates in a central part of Kabul. The gates are quite a distance from the actual US Embassy building and also from nearby NATO headquarters. The cause of the explosion was not immediately clear and there was no immediate report of any casualties.
