Spokesman for Egypt’s Prosecutor General, Mustafa Dowidar, has denied reports that al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, were inside Egyptian borders and operating under the guise of civil unrest in Canal cities. “Egypt will not accept the presence of any external elements within its territory,” Dowidar claimed. Hamas “respects the sovereignty of Egypt,” he added.
