Lebanese military judge Fady Safwan has called for a member of Hezbollah to be sentenced to death for masterminding the failed assassination of parliamentarian Boutros Harb. The judge has issued an arrest warrant for Mohamed al-Hayek, a leading member of Hezbollah in south Lebanon, accusing him of planting an explosive device in an elevator part of the building which hosts Harb's main office. Safwan wants al-Hayek to be arrested and trialled in a military court.
