Senior Jordanian politicians have called for the Israeli Ambassador to Jordan Daniel Nevo to be expelled. At a meeting on Sunday evening, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Khalil Attiyeh and fellow MP Samir Aweys unveiled a banner stating: The Jordanians want the Israeli ambassador to be expelled. Earlier, Jordanian lawmakers voted to permit the ambassador to remain in Amman after 86 members of the parliament of 150 voted to bring the matter to debate, a no-confidence motion towards toppling the government of Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, but the government, and the ambassador survived. The Jordanian government sent a strongly-worded message to Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, urging the Israeli ambassador to apologise for his controversial remarks about the al-Aqsa Mosque. Jordan's Information Minister Mohammad al-Momani claimed that Nevo left Jordan three weeks ago.
