Amman - Iman Abu Kaoud
A Jordanian police spokesperson has denied claims circulating on Facebook that a police car that was part of US President Barack Obama on his Friday visit to Jordan belonged to US police.
The spokesperson for Jordan's Directorate of Public Security, Mohammed al-Khatib said the authority is currently replacing its police cars with new ones. He said the car in question was one of the replacement cars on its first official outing but had yet to have the Public Security logo placed onto it.
Al-Khatib said the new cars had smaller engines and therefore guaranteed reduced running costs.
Four police and three patrol cars accompanied Obama's motorcade.
