Parliamentary leader of Morocco’s ruling Justice and Development Party (JDP) Abdallah Bowano has threatened to take to the streets to personally combat opponents of the government. Political forces were trying to overthrow an elected government, he claimed. Bowano meanwhile called on opposition groups to commit to Morocco’s new democratic constitution. Bowano has been known for making controversial statements in the past.
