Beirut - Arab Today
Israeli occupation forces fired last night two flare bombs over Radar post overlooking the town of Shebaa, southern Lebanon, Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported.
On January 28, Hezbollah Hezbollah claimed responsibility for an operation against an Israeli military convoy in Burket al-Naqqar area south of occupied Shebaa Farms, in retaliation for the deadly Israeli airstrike in Syria that killed six Hezbollah fighters earlier.
The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that two soldiers were killed and seven others wounded in the missile strike.
Israel responded by firing at least 50 artillery shells into Lebanon in a significant escalation along the volatile border. The United Nations said a UN peacekeeper was killed in southern Lebanon, in an incident likely related to the border flare-up.
