Baghdad - Jaafar Al Nasrawi
Iraqi National List coalition group has accused neighbouring countries of attempting to assassinate its leader Iyad Allawi.
In a statement, spokesperson Maysoon al-Damluji revealed the group had received information about Allawi's house and office being targeted with missiles. "Foreign countries target national icons who refuse to submit to their will," she said.
Damluji explained that a complaint had been submitted to security authorities, and claimed that several regional factions are working to destabilise the Iraqi state.
Last April, Allawi accused the Iranian Revolutionary Guards of attempting to assassinate him.
