Iraqi Ground Forces Command announced the killing of an al-Qaeda minister in Iraq during a military operation in the governorates of Anbar and Nineveh. The  governorates of Anbar and Nineveh suffer from a state of instability due to increasing incidents of bombings and assassinations. The Iraqi government accuses extremist organisations, including al-Qaeda, of such incidents.
