F16 fighter jets from UAE arrive at an air base

The Iraqi F-16 fighter jets on Saturday hit Daesh militants' sites for the first time in the country, said a military source.

On Monday, US delivered the first lot of F-16 fighter jets to the Iraqi government to be used in the fight against Daesh.

Four jets arrived at the Balad air base north of Baghdad.

Iraq started an operation to oust Daesh from Anbar, a sprawling Sunni Muslim province that extends hundreds of kilometers west of Baghdad.
