The Iraqi army managed on Friday to foil an attempt by the terrorist Daesh group to target the Adhaim Dam in Diyala governorate.
The troops, backed by pro-government militias and tribesmen, killed the attackers and regained control of the dam, a statement by the Defense Ministry said.
