Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday his country is seeking to have better relations with neighboring countries, especially Saudi Arabia. Upon arrival in Beirut, he told reporters that Iran was willing to establish better relations with Saudi Arabia, which, if developed, would positively influence regional peace. The Iranian foreign minister is visiting Lebanon as part of a regional tour which will also take him to Damascus, Amman and Baghdad. Zarif thanked the Lebanese government for arresting Abdullah Azzam Brigades leader Majed Al-Majed, who is involved in a recent attack on the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon. He unveiled that an Iranian judicial delegation would visit Lebanon soon to look into the circumstances of the bombing that hit the Iranian embassy in Beirut in November 2013 and claimed the lives of 23 people and injury of 147 others. "We cannot but express sincere gratitude for the relentless and diligent efforts exerted by the Lebanese government in this regard," Zarif noted. On Syria, the Iranian foreign minister said the only available solution for the Syrian crisis is the political one. During his two-day stay, Zarif is scheduled to hold talks with several Lebanese officials on bilateral relations and the current regional situations, mainly the Syrian crisis. Source: KUNA
