A heavy security deployment was observed at Cairo's Tahrir, Ramsis and Rabaa Adawiya squares and Giza's Nahda Square on Friday ahead of planned protests by the Muslim Brotherhood.
Central Security Forces (CSF) were also stationed around the Egyptian Museum and Simon Bolivar Square in Downtown Cairo, MENA reporter at the scene said.
On Thursday, the so-called "Coalition in support of legitimacy" called for staging protests on Friday and Sunday against the 11-year jail terms handed down against 21 MB girls in Alexandria.
