Gaza - Mohammed Habib
Palestinian Prime Minister and senior leader of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh has said that the current climate of safety and security in Gaza Strip, is the result of efforts to enforce stringent security measures.
Speaking at a Police graduation ceremony on Tuesday evening Haniyeh said, "today we celebrate the best of the young people to defend our land, we will not allow the occupation to tamper with security of Gaza.”
He added that the people of Gaza are characterised by their Islamic and religious values.
“Gaza has become a model for high morals, and what it characterises is resistance and jihad. Instead of the entering Gaza the occupation hit Tel Aviv,” said the leader.
Haniyeh credited the Police graduates with their ability to stand as "tall mountains," asserting that their duty is to maintain the security of the country, and defend religion and the homeland.
He recommended the graduates should continue with their education so that they may be able to reach the highest level of expertise. “Graduation is not the end of the road, but the beginning,” Haniyeh said.
The Prime Minister also called on the graduates to be "just and fair,” and to exert efforts to “liberate the land restoring the usurped rights.”
