A French citizen has tried to commit suicide by throwing themselves from a hotel rooftop in the Moroccan city of Marrakech. The Frenchman made threats to jump from the roof for 90 minutes before the incident. Police were called to the scene to talk him down. The man later walked down to the hotel reception. Arabstoday understands the man was pushed to suicide due to financial conditions which prevented him from paying his bill to leave. French consulate officials and Moroccan police liaised on Tuesday to resolve the problem.
