Muslim Brotherhood leader Essam el-Eryan has been remanded in custody for additional 15 days while the prosecution investigates charges leveled against him of joining a banned group and inciting violence. Earlier, prosecution ordered el-Eryan to be remanded in custody pending investigations into inciting violence and killing in the vicinity of the Istiqama Mosque and Bein el-Sarayat neighborhood in Giza. The MB leader is also accused of possessing unlicensed weapons and ammunition. Blocking roads and halting transportation services are among other charges against him. Also, he faces accusations connected with violence that erupted in the vicinity of the Istiqama Mosque when members of the Muslim Brotherhood attacked a number of citizens during their armed march, killing nine people and wounding 20 more.
