Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozda? arrived in Tunis Sunday in a visit during which he will meet Prime Minister Ali Larayedh and supervise the delivery of Turkish security and logistical aid to Interior Minister Lotfi Ben Jeddou.
The equipment Tunisian will receive includes 165 cars, 100 police motorcycles, 32 garbage trucks, 30 street-sweeper trucks, 30 trucks for transporting waste and 50 heavy trucks that will be distributed among 24 local authorities across Tunisia.
Valued at $30 million, the equipment is a present by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) to Tunisia in support of its revolution and to aid in the process of democratisation.
TIKA has also pledged to carry out several projects in Tunisia after it has opened its office in Tunis, as per orders given by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an following his visit to Tunisia.
These projects include modernising, training and providing logistical support to Tunisian security forces.
The Tunisian cabinet office said Bozda? and Larayedh will hold talks Monday on strengthening ties between the two countries.
