France’s most famous landmark, the Eiffel Tower, was evacuated of all tourists and staff on Friday after a bomb scare, according to police. According to Reuters, the 324-metre-high (1,062-foot tower) was evacuated around 2 p.m. (12:30 GMT) and has not reopened to tourists yet. Built in 1889 and one of the world\'s most recognizable monuments, the Eiffel Tower receives around seven million visitors a year and as many as 30,000 per day in the peak summer season. It\'s regularly subject to bomb scares but these threats are usually quickly found to be hoaxes and only cause full evacuations a few times a year.
