A political activist has insisted on celebrating his wedding amid protestors in a rally in the Egyptian city of Mansoura. Mohamed Magdy celebrated his wedding on Monday among dozens of anti-government demonstrators protesting in the city’s Revolution Square. At one point, the rally became so heated that police fired tear gas into the crowd to disperse them. The groom said that he wanted to celebrate his big day at Revolution Square, because of his dedication to the revolution which meant he has attended every single demonstration in Mansoura since the uprisings began in 2011. The demonstrators are demanding the overthrow of the current government, led by Prime Minister Mohammed Morsi, as well as retribution for “martyrs of the revolution.”
