Egypt’s Health Ministry announced the number of people injured in clashes in Cairo, Port Said and other governorates had reached 618 by Monday, with seven deaths, following five deadly incidents in Port Said.
Ahmed Omar, a Health Ministry spokesperson, said in a press statement that the majority of injured persons had left hospital, excluding 75 individuals who were still receiving treatment.
Clashes in Port Said, which started out when security forces fired tear gas on funeral processions, led to 535 casualties. Meanwhile, 65 people were injured in Tahrir Square.
