The Egyptian Air Force have been flying over Rafah and Sheikh Zuwaid to search for jihadist groups hiding in the area, security sources and eyewitnesses have revealed. The Egyptian army is about to resume their campaign to arrest wanted characters within the military operation \"Sinai \", which was initiated by the Egyptian army on August 7, following the attack on the Rafah border that killed sixteen Egyptian soldiers. The same sources said that \"Mi-8\" military aircraft flew over several areas South Sheikh Zuwaid. North Sinai Security Directorate has put a large number of security barriers in the streets of El Arish, in order to inspect the cars and do identity checks. Security sources said that security campaigns in Arish led to the arrest of eleven suspects as well as seven wanted criminals who escaped their trials. Director of North Sinai Security Major General Ahmed Bakr declared that the police performance in the governorate has improved, and under the guidance of the Interior minister Major General Ahmed Gamal El Din, police presence was intensified on the main streets, entrances, exits, and neighbourhoods of Al-Arish. Gunmen attacked a police patrol in Ferran Valley in South Sinai. They managed to escape after an exchange of fire, which led to the injury of the recruit Hisham Eid Mohammed (22 years) from Ismailia – he sustained serious injuries.   Sources said that security patrol was on a routine search operation, spotted on the road a car without license plates. When they approached, gunmen opened fire and managed to escape.
