Security sources in Egypt’s North Sinai said that 42 Africans were arrested during an attempt to gain access to Israel. Those arrested were trying to cross the international borders with Egypt when, after a short chase and exchange of fire, a security patrol arrested them. During investigations the Africans admitted that they were attempting to pass through the borders to Israel seeking work, adding that they paid one thousand US dollars for smuggling gangs to facilitate their infiltration.
