Lebanon\'s President Michel Sleiman has received a message from his Egyptian counterpart Adly Mansour providing an update on the recent political developments in Egypt and the political road ahead.
Egypt\'s Ambassador in Beirut Ashraf Hamdi handed the message to the Lebanese president on Wednesday.
In the message, Egypt\'s interim leader vowed to establish a democratic society based on the rule of law and the multi-party system.
Earlier on Wednesday, President Sleiman met Deputy Prime Minister Samir Mokbel to discuss the current political situation in Lebanon. The meeting was also attended by parliamentarian Nadim Gemayel, former minister Remon Ouda, and former parliamentarian Gibran Touq.
Lebanon\'s head of state also met Francois Basil from the Council of Lebanese Banks. The two men discussed the state\'s economic policies. The banking chief thanked President Sleiman for supporting the Baabda Declaration, adding it would pave the way for achieving economic and monetary stability.
