Judicial sources have told Arabstoday that members of the Supreme Constitutional Court in Cairo will defer the court’s session due to the siege of demonstrators surrounding its headquarters. They were due to discuss the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly and the Shura Council. The announcement came as several thousand supporters of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi surrounded the Supreme Constitutional Court to prevent the judges from entering the building. In televised remarks Ahmed el-Borai a member of the National Salvation Front and vice president of Aldotsor party said that the rule of law is failing because of what is happening right now in front of the Court. Chants echoed in front of the Supreme Constitutional Court supporting Morsi's decisions and demanding the application of Islamic law. Numbers of demonstrators increased while journalists were prevented from entering the Supreme Constitutional Court, several of whom were attacked by demonstrators.
