Head of the Evangelical Sect in Egypt, Safwat Bayadi, on Friday denounced the attacks on churches during the recent violence across the country. In a statement, Bayadi also called on state institutions to protect the people of Egypt. \"I call on the government, represented in its security and army forces to protect all the people threatened by violence, and their facilities. \"We pray for the safety of all, send our condolences to the families of those who have been killed while protecting their country, and thank all Muslim citizens who have helped protect their Coptic neighbours,\" he added.   Meanwhile, in South Sinai, Egypt’s Tourism and Antiquities Police ordered the closure of Saint Catherine\'s Monastery and other Christian landmarks due to security reasons. The monastery’s spokesman said that the management would adhere to the instructions. Tourism sector workers denounced the decision, claiming it would have a negative impact on the industry. They urged the minister of tourism to lift the curfew on the city of Saint Catherine.
