The Arab League has underlined the need for continued efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis, calling for a cease-fire and halt of blood bath that claimed the lives of thousands of Syrians. This came in a speech delivered by Arab League Secretary General Nabil Elaraby who also called for work to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid, hoping that the  Geneva Conference II on Syria, due to be held on next January 22,  would achieve the desired goals in accordance with the results of the Geneva Conference II, held in June 2012. Dr. Elaraby gave his speech before the 5th Arab-African Forum of the Arab African which was held today at the Arab League in conjunction with the Arab Youth and Environment Union with a large number of Arab and African officials attending.
