The Electricity and Renewable Energy Ministry announced on Saturday naming Amged el Wakeel as the head of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA).

El Wakeel will succeed Hassan Mahmoud who was ac serving as the acting head of the authority.

In statements on Saturday, the Electricity Ministry spokesman Ayman Hamza said that the decision was issued by the cabinet on Wednesday.

El Wakeel was the chief executive of el Dabaa nuclear project for generating electricity, the spokesman reiterated.
