Casablanca - Said Bounowar
Authorities in Algeria have tightened security in a number of crossings following discussions regarding the opening of borders between Morocco and Algeria.
Security sources have intensified efforts to prevent Algerians from smuggling into Moroccan border cities, as well as to stop any transportation of drugs between the two areas.
Algerian authorities have built 25 new centres to monitor border areas; these centres are also in charge of supervising attempts of human smuggling, following an influx of African desert citizens who have been trying to immigrate to Europe through the Moroccan crossing.
