Algiers – Hocine Bousalah
Algerian Interior Minister Dahou Ould Kabila has said he will chair a meeting on Sunday to discuss how to combat the "worrying" trend of child abductions taking place across the country.
"It's a major concern, despite security authorities tackling several cases of this kind," Ould Kabila told reporters during a visit to Béchar in southern Algeria.
Sunday’s meeting will include delegates from the Gendarmerie Nationale and other national security agencies.
Officials will also discuss the “various psychological factors” at play in child abductions, Ould Kabila said.
