The armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), al-Quds Brigades, has confirmed that one its members was killed after the explosion of a "suspicious object" in Gaza on Friday. The victim was named as 22-year old Jihad Youssef. Three citizens were seriously injured in the blast in Zawaida, central Gaza Strip. Ministry of Health spokesman  Ashraf al-Qudrah said that one person suffered "serious facial injuries" and had been transferred to Shifa Hospital in Gaza. The other two suffered moderate injuries to various parts of their bodies and were being treated at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah. Several Palestinians have been killed by undetonated explosives dropped by the Israeli army during attacks on border areas, east of the Gaza Strip.
