Islamabad - Arab Today
At least nine militants were killed on Saturday as gunship helicopters pounded the militants' hideouts in Hangu Tehsil of northern Pakistan, said officials.
The security officials confirming the strikes said that the attack was launched over a tip off about the presence of militants in Tal. Gunship helicopters shelled suspected militants' positions in Tora Wari and Dar Samand areas of Tal following which nine militants were killed whereas several hideouts were destroyed, according to the officials.
Hangu borders the northwestern Pakistani tribal region of Orakzai that is one of Pakistan's seven lawless districts on the Afghan border.
Earlier this week, at least 15 people were killed as Pakistani fighter jets targeted suspected insurgent hideouts in three different Tehsils of the North Waziristan tribal region.
