Seven guards were killed and two others wounded in an attack on the main prison in Yemen's capital on Thursday in a bid to free inmates, a well-placed security source was quoted as telling the BBC. "A terrorist group attacked the central prison, and detonated a car bomb," the source said. The source noted that guards managed to confront the terrorists and forced them to flee.
