Six Muslim men have been jailed for up to 19-and-a-half years each for planning to bomb an English Defence League rally in West Midlands, United Kingdom. The men were caught by chance after their car was stopped for having no insurance. A bomb, knives and sawn-off shotguns were discovered in possession of the men, who were on their way to the EDL event in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. However, the gang\'s plan failed because the event finished earlier than expected. The men, Mohammed Hasseen, Mohammed Saud, Omar Khan, Jewel Uddin, Anzal Hussain and Zohaib Ahmed all admitted to \"terrorism\" offences in April. Khan, Uddin and Ahmed were sentenced to 19-and-a-half years in jail, with a five-year extension on licence at the Old Bailey in London. Hasseen, Hussain and Saud were jailed for 18 years and nine months, with a five-year extension on licence. Sentencing the men, Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC said the explosive device had been a \"horrible weapon\" that would have caused serious if not fatal injuries.
